Youth arraigned on charges of attempted murder

And in an update to a story we aired last night, nineteen year old Winfield Dennison a.k.a. “Cucu” appeared in court today to face charges relating to the shooting of fifteen year old high school student, Randy August. Dennison was charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm, and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. He was remanded in custody and will be behind bars until September nineteenth when he is to re-appear in court. August, a resident of Diego Street, reported to the police that he was standing at the Vernon Street bridge when he felt someone touch his shoulder and call his name. When he turned around he saw Dennison with a pistol pointed at this face. August said that when he moved his head to the left, he heard a loud sound that deafened him and that he then saw blood running down the left side of his face. Dennison reportedly ran towards Sarstoon Street and August in turn headed in the same direction and met a man who took him to the hospital.
