Woman accuses boyfriend of robbery, assault
This morning, Cecil Castillo, also known as ‘Saddest’, was charged with four offences: Robbery, Burglary, Damage to Property, and a Mischievous Act. And the complainant is none other than his girlfriend. Thirty-two year old Leonora Stevens reported that around two-fifteen p.m. on Thursday, she was in her yard when Castillo stole her beach cruiser bicycle. The woman says when she tried to detain Castillo he hit her on the forehead with a pistol and rode away. Stevens alleges that Castillo returned four hours later and entered her home uninvited. Yet another altercation ensued during which Castillo is said to have broken a glass paneled table. But it didn’t end there, as Stevens reports that Castillo returned a third time, about a half hour later, and tore down two pieces of her plywood siding. Later that night a police mobile patrol caught up with Castillo on Raccoon Street, but when asked to identify himself, he gave a false name. He probably would have gotten away were it not for another patrol which arrived shortly after and informed the officers that Castillo was wanted for robbery. The twenty-three year old pled not guilty to the charges, but Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie explained to him that because of the nature of the crime the court cannot offer him bail. He was remanded into custody until September thirtieth.
