Fuel prices drop by an average of $1.15
Belizeans who filled their tanks today got sticker shock, but it wasn’t because of an increase in prices. As of midnight on August twelfth the pump prices for fuel reduced an average of one dollar and fifteen cents. The new prices are as follows: premium gasoline is now ten-forty-one, dropping from eleven-forty-nine; regular decreased one dollar and eighteen cents to ten-oh-one; kerosene dropped one dollar and twenty cents to ten dollars and forty-three cents; while diesel went from eleven-seventy-four to ten-sixty. A release from the Ministry of Finance says the reductions are “in keeping with government’s commitment to pass on in full any decrease in the acquisition to the Belizean consumer.”
