Suspect nabbed for Doony’s robbery
He spent his first night behind bars on Monday night when Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb remanded him for the possession of an unlicensed bullet and today, Gion Bernard was back in court in connection with the robbery of Doony’s Store on August sixth. But due to an error in his booking, Bernard was taken back to Hattieville prison to re-appear again on September eleventh. Police sources tell News Five that it was intelligence gathering and positive identification that led them to the Lovely Lane resident. Bernard rode up on bicycle and entered the store just after one last Wednesday and robbed the proprietor, Manisha Sadarangani, of over ten thousand dollars and a customer of a cell phone. Witnesses say another youth stood watch outside while Bernard committed the crime but police are yet to find the other culprit.
