Corozal man crushed to death in freak accident

A man was crushed to death in a freak accident in Corozal. Police reports are that around two on Wednesday afternoon Israel Castro and Orlando Garcia were at the home of Alejandro Henry in Caledonia Village, helping to remove a truck engine. Garcia says Castro was directing another truck which they were going to transfer the machine into. But the driver of the truck, Selvin Pena, apparently reversed too far and pinned the Caledonia resident. Castro was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital, but died while undergoing treatment. A post-mortem examination revealed that the twenty-one year old died of traumatic shock due to a compression of the liver. Police say they are looking Pena for questioning.
