Stabbing incident at Pound Yard Bridge leaves two injured

Just before this newscast, a stabbing was reported at the Pound Yard Bridge, in front of a hotdog vendor and in an area in close proximity of the Pound Yard stop. While police have not released the names of the individuals involved in this latest stabbing in Belize City, we did get an interview with one of the witnesses on the scene.

Witness to Stabbing (Translated)
“A man was passing with a Guinness in his hand when another man exited a bus, kicked him, pushed him against a wall and beat him up. The injured man did not do anything but said he would come back with his group. The aggressor did not believe him and the victim came back and stabbed him several times. The only thing I heard is that it had to do with one of their mothers.”

The victim who was stabbed with a large knife was taken to the hospital first. Police held down the perpetrator of the stabbing who received a cut to his hand before also escorting him to the hospital. We will bring you more details of this incident on tomorrow’s newscast.
