NBA player and rap star girlfriend in Nothern Hwy. collision
This afternoon NBA star Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets and his girlfriend Trina, the famous rap artist, arrived at the Phillip Goldson International Airport at the invitation of Youth for the Future for a double event on Saturday. Tomorrow morning at ten, Martin and Trina will be at the Belize City Center for a youth rally and in the afternoon the couple will be at a Semi Pro game between the Belize Bank and San Pedro Tiger Sharks in San Pedro A.C. Late this evening we spoke to the couple and asked about their short visit.

“Just good luck, work hard. It’s not easy by any means but you gotta put your dreams first you know what I’m saying. Chase your dreams, work hard at all times and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it; it’s possible.”

“Thank you to the fans that’s out here. I get a lot of support from the fans and I’m grateful and appreciative of that. so I would definitely say thanks to the fans and thanks for them to keep supporting me ad following me and buying my music and listening to it. That’s a blessing.”
And that is tomorrow but today when Martin and Trina were heading to the City from the Phillip Goldson International Airport they were caught head on in an accident on the Northern Highway. It is reported that the police vehicle that should have been leading the entourage was actually the second vehicle in tow. The police vehicle pulled up and overtook the lead vehicle on a curve just before the Haulover Bridge. The Ford Excursion that was carrying Martin and Trina then followed the police vehicle escort attempting to overtake the lead vehicle on the curve. But It was too late to avoid a collision with a van driven by forty year old George Abraham who was accompanied by his two children. We spoke to Abraham this evening about the accident.
