Corozal family traumatized by robbery
A family in Corozal Town is traumatized after their home was invaded on Tuesday night. Forty-six year old Femoli Correa reported to police that around nine o’clock she was at her Third Street South home with her mother and three children when two men entered the premises. According to Correa, the men were armed with handguns and one of them hit her in the face with one of the pistols, causing a wound to her mouth. The duo then proceeded to search the home and robbed Correa of three gold chains, two pairs of gold earrings, a cell phone, and an Ipod, all valued at over two thousand dollars.
That same night, thirty-nine year old Carlos Peña Senior reported to police that he was attacked by his son, Carlos Junior. The father related that around four p.m. on Monday he was at his home on Corozal Road when his son struck him with a machete. Peña Sr. sustained cut wounds to his nose and forehead; his nineteen year old son has been detained by police pending charges.
