Belizean musicians to perform in U.S. concert
A major music concert is soon to take place in Pasadena, California that will be televised on CBS and two Belizean artists have been invited to take part in the event by internationally renown producer, Kashif. Accompanied by Jamaican producer Charles Mclean, the two Belizeans stopped by our studio to tell us about the concert and the new album that they’ve just released called Good to Me.
Charles Mclean, Producer
“This is our new CD, it’s entitled good to me performed by Horace and engineered by Kendoyll Simpson. It’s a CD with ten tracks, ten lively upbeats and mostly positive lyrics. We’re trying to avoid violent and kinda dirty lyrics per say. We are trying to produce positive music for the community and the world in general so the people can have their mind away from killing people and all kind of stuff. Our CD is enlightening stuff; how to live good with each other. It’s reggae music. Most of the tracks are reggae, reggaeton or reggae pop fusion.”
Horace Bryce, Singer
“The concert is basically for the funding of the childcare in Pasadena, California which we were invited to and it is a big concert where many celebrities are invited, over forty thousand people. Kashif heard our CD through Mister Charles Mclean which we heard about earlier and he happened to fall in love with the CD and loved the songs and the lyrics that we were pushing and he asked us to perform on Saturday.”
Kendoyll Simpson, Producer
“It’s a big break for us and I think it’s a big break for the country as well because we know Andy Palacio made it on to the big scene and his life was short lived. I think we as young artists, we are opening back the channel for Belize for the international market and it’ as also a big deal because we have never performed in front of forty thousand people before. I noh even think concert in Belize, forty thousand people would be present noh care how big di concert right. So it’s a good experience for us and we are hoping to do our best.”
“Good to Me” costs twenty-five dollars and is available at music stores.
