Police arrest home invader
Thirty-five year old Calvin Bailey appeared in the Magistrates’ court this morning to answer a lesser charge of burglary. He is accused as one of two culprits involved in a burglary on East Collet Canal on July sixteenth. The complainant, thirty year old Maria Teresa Lara reported to the police that she was alone in the apartment when the door was forced open and the two perpetrators made their way inside. Lara claimed that the men asked for her common law husband and when she responded that he was not at home, the men searched the apartment and left when they could not find him. Bailey pleaded not guilty to the charge of Burglary. He was offered bail of five hundred dollars and his case was adjourned until August first. The other perpetrator, Jermaine Jex, was charged with burglary on July eighteenth.
