Man jacked in his hotel room

Belize City police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Wednesday morning at a local hotel in which a guest claimed he lost seven hundred dollars. According to sixty year old John Ramos, a cook from La Democracia, he was robbed at about ten-thirty yesterday morning at room number twelve on the third floor of the Golden Dragon Hotel just behind the Majestic Taxi stand. Ramos says three men entered his room and covered his face with a cloth, grabbed him around the neck and put an object to his side. Ramos said he struggled with the men but he was overpowered and they took his money. After ransacking the room, the robbers left without hurting Ramos. Today News Five was at the scene of the crime and spoke off camera with an employee who explained that an inebriated Ramos arrived at the hotel on Tuesday night and had to be helped up to his room by a group of men he referred to as friends. That was the last they heard of Ramos that night. The employee also said that the hotel installed a Camera on the second floor after another occupant was robbed about three years ago. With this latest incident, the management is now contemplating installing a camera on the third floor. The men who robbed Ramos are believed to have used the back stairs to gain access to the rooftop without being detected.
