Police confirm Honduran was murdered in Placencia
Police have confirmed that a Honduran national whose body was found in the waters of the Placencia Peninsula, was indeed murdered. A post mortem examination conducted on the body of thirty-four year old Jose Antonio Nixolio Lazo has revealed that the man died of stab wounds. Sources tell News Five that Lazo was apparently stabbed under his neck and that his body was then disposed of in the waters. As we reported in our newscast last night, when the body was recovered from the waters near Sunset Point in Placencia yesterday morning, police observed the stab wound and bruises. Investigators have no strong leads but continue to question a number of people and believe the motive of this latest homicide was robbery since Lazo was carrying several hundred dollars on him. Lazo, a Honduran who had been living in Seine Bight for the past three years was last seen alive at his home on Sunday. He was employed in the booming construction industry in Placencia.
