Body of man retrieved from Placencia peninsula

Placencia police suspect foul play was involved in the death of a man whose partially decomposed body was retrieved this morning from the waters near the Placencia peninsula. Reports reaching News Five say that police recovered the body of thirty-four year old Honduran, Nixolio Lazo around seven-thirty this morning at the entrance of the Sunset Point in Placencia. Lazo, a Honduran who had been staying in Seine Bight for the past three years, did not show up to work on Monday at a construction site and was last seen alive at his home on Sunday. Our sources say that bruises were visible all over the body and a small puncture wound was detected on his throat. Police so far have no suspects but are questioning several people, including friends and colleagues from his job. Lazo received his wages last Friday, and so police have not ruled out that murder could have been a motive for his death. A post mortem is scheduled for tomorrow to determine what caused Lazo’s death.
