No arrests yet in weekend stabbing

Story PicturePolice have not yet made any arrests in connection with two separate stabbings over the weekend that have left two men injured. One of the incidents occurred at a night spot that is known for violent outbreaks. While he was stabbed several times, twenty-four year old Adrian Thompson, is thankful tonight as he was released with no major injury. He told us upon his dismissal from the K.H.M.H. that he was with a friend, Edmund Gentle and a young woman partying at Caesar’s Palace on Newtown Barracks sometime after two on Sunday morning when he and another man got embroiled in a dispute.

I turn my back and I tell my friend lets go mek wi walk out. He come from behind and stab me like five time. I get wap inna mi head right yah so wid wah pipe by di same guy. So I punch ah two time eena ih face and ih drop den I walk out. Ih mi di come again so my next friend grab he round his neck then from deh I conscious I get stab when I come outside and my friend tell me I get stab cause I si all di blood and thing di run down me. I run way dah front ah MJ’s fi get inna mi vehicle and drive dah hospital.”

“Yes Ma’am.”

“What were you arguing about?”

Adrian Thompson
“Well, wah young lady weh mi deh wid we, di guy disrespect her and we tell ah y he di disrespect ah and dehn ting deh. Look like di young bwai mi done kinda high too.”

“Does he know her?”

Adrian Thompson
“No, he noh know none ah we and we noh know he.”

The second incident occurred about an hour earlier also on Sunday morning and left twenty-nine year old Cedrick Martinez with two stabs to the left side of his rib cage. Martinez told police that he was at the corner of Bocotora and Iguana Street when a man he knew as Leon Walford, with whom he had had a previous misunderstanding, inflicted the wounds. Martinez, who underway x-rays this morning to determine the extent of his injuries, is said to be in a critical condition. Police have detained twenty-three year old Leon Walford of Amara Avenue pending charges.
