Thieves jack safe from Cayo Cable Vision
In news from the west, police report that Cayo Cable Vision on Burns Avenue in San Ignacio was jacked. Manager Yesenia Romero reports that she left the C.C.V. offices on Wednesday shortly after five o’clock p.m. and when she returned to work on Thursday morning, found that it had been burglarised. According to Romero, the intruders helped themselves to a safe containing over four thousand dollars in cash, eight cell phones, and an assortment of personal items. Police believe that access to the building was gained by removing the louvers from a small window in the bathroom.
Meanwhile, police believe robbery was the motive behind the shooting of a seventy year old man from Roaring Creek. From his bed at the Western Regional Hospital, Ferdinand Wagner related to the authorities that around eight-twenty Thursday night he was sitting in his Ford Explorer that was parked in his driveway when a man, who had the lower part of his face covered, walked up and pointed a firearm at him. The gunman demanded money and when Ferdinand did not hand over anything, shot him to the right side of the face.
