Taiwan gifts Bz $25 million for budget support
The Ministry of Finance is crunching the numbers for next week’s budget presentation and just in time, the government of Taiwan has come forward with twenty-five million dollars in budget support. Taiwan’s representative in Belize, Ambassador Shih handed over the gift to Prime Minister Barrow yesterday. An additional twenty-five million has been committed by Taiwan to the government and is expected to be made available in the coming months. Meanwhile, in the next financial year 2008-2009, it is projected that government will collect in range of eight hundred and seventeen million dollars in revenues, grants and loans and estimates to spend eight hundred and twenty-five million in expenditures.
