Police detain gunman in Centaur Cable Robbery
Centaur Cable Company, located at Ramon’s Plaza in Ladyville, was hit yesterday by a lone gunman who police believe was targeting the establishment for some time. The police acted swiftly, and the culprit, who had dreadlocks and carried a knapsack, is now in police custody but is yet to be charged. He entered the business shortly after four o’clock pretending to be a customer and held up two employees, ordered them to face the wall, and then made his way behind the counter where he stole the day’s proceeds from the cash register. Before getting away through the back door with a sizeable loot, the robber shot one of the employees, Charlene Gibson, in the leg. Officer commanding the Ladyville Police Station, Inspector Calbert Flowers, says police have already recovered monies they believe were stolen in the heist.

“Have you retrieved any cash or the gun from him?”
Insp. Calbert Flowers
“No gun, but we have recovered some cash from him. He lives in Belize City but he frequents Ladyville. He has associates within Ladyville so he frequents the Ladyville area.”
The management of Centaur’s office says that they are in the process of installing security features at the business.
