C.E.O.s who never made it to the top job replaced
When the Barrow Administration took office in February, it made several appointments public at the top layer of government in the way of Chief Executive Officers who were picked to replace the outgoing CEO’s.
Most of the new CEOs named by the U.D.P. are political appointees and were rewarded with hefty contracts and perks. They were announced with much fanfare but now there is deafening silence in the Belmopan corridors on their movements. Just in case you can’t keep up, only four months into the administration, take a listen.
Ambrose Tillett who was named as the CEO in the Ministry of Public Utilities, NEMO and Transport never made it to work. Tillett told News Five that he fell ill and had to go abroad for medical care and was replaced by Colonel George Lovell who once headed NEMO.
After an aborted transitional term at the Ministry of Natural Resources, career public officer and former permanent secretary David Gibson’s rumored rough times paved the way for a smooth entry for former Sales Tax Head Beverly Castillo. The G.S.T. Department is now headed by Evan Brown. Gibson has emerged as a consultant in the Foreign Ministry.
Reliable sources tell News Five, that Rosalie Saldivar, sister of Public Service Minister, John Saldivar never took office as Housing C.E.O. but instead went on study leave with full pay. Rosalie Gentle, a former finance officer is now the acting C.E.O. for housing.
