Government vehicle totaled in joy ride
A joy ride on the Western Highway in the vicinity of Camalote Village in the Cayo District almost turned fatal for a private security guard of the Anchor Company in Belmopan. Reports are that around one-thirty this morning, twenty-six year old Carlos Baizar was travelling on the highway with his sister in the passenger seat of a government owned 2008 Toyota Hilux issued to Ministry of Health C.E.O. Peter Allen when he lost control and overturned, totaling the vehicle. Allen who just returned from a trip today was not in the country at the time of the accident. It appears that Baizar, who had access to the keys, drove off with the vehicle from the parking lot of West Block in Belmopan without permission. Police are investigating and have since taken a blood sample from Baizar.
