Arrest made in the murder of Sandhill woman
One day after police found the body of forty-five year old Dorla Pitterson in Sand Hill Village, police have arrested and charged thirty year old Orlando Wade with the Murder. Wade, who was found hiding inside the attic of his family’s home in SandHill, was detained for questioning soon after the killing. Police tell News Five that Wade, a construction worker who lived in Ladyville, frequented the village, and was the last person to be seen in Pitterson’s company. He will be formally arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a post mortem conducted today on Pitterson’s body revealed that she was manually strangled and hit on the forehead with a blunt object. Cops suspect rape was the motive, but are awaiting test results which should be back as early as next week. Pitterson was found stuffed inside an abandoned latrine behind Sylvia’s Cool Spot in Sand Hill.
