3 persons charged in discovery of explosives
In an update to last night’s story on the sensational discovery of explosives at a house at the corner of Plues and Berkley Streets, two men and a woman appeared in court twice today to face charges relating to the incident. The three were at the house in question when police made a search of the building on Monday morning and found the explosives and ammunition in the kitchen area under a cabinet. This afternoon they were charged in Magistrates’ Court with Keeping Explosives, namely two twelve gauge meter safety fuses, five non-electrical detonators, three electrical detonators and one smoke screening grenade as well as keeping one twelve gauge shotgun without a license and Keeping Ammunition Without a License in relation to that weapon’s cartridge.
The trio comprised of a husband and wife team of Nikki Pinkard and his common-law wife Jenevieve Milligan, along with Leslie Gillett also appeared in court this morning and were charged with Keeping Ammunition without a License and the Possession of Controlled Drugs. The three are to re-appear in court in August. Pinkard and Leslie were denied bail and remanded in custody until July third while Milligan fared better and was offered bail of seven thousand dollars.
