Power outage forces business closures in old capital
Electricity was interrupted today from just after midday to around four-thirty this evening. And those four hours took a toll on business operations downtown. News Five found that a number of businesses closed up shop while the power was out. The Supreme and Magistrates’ Courts also closed their doors and hearings were postponed. So what caused the long outage? According to a release from the Belize Electricity Limited, their crew was replacing conductors in Zone one but they works were delayed as a result of equipment failure.
