Prices in flour/bread approved by Cabinet
As we go to air tonight, Cabinet is yet to make an official release but word to our newsroom is that dramatic increases in the prices of flour and bread have been approved.
Effective tomorrow, the price of bread is expected to go up by twenty-five cents with the promise of an additional twenty-five cents within thirty days. Flour, which had to be imported late last week, according to industry sources, will go up by twenty-four dollars per hundred pound sack.
Our source in the Bakers’ Association also indicates that in the next month, the prices of shortening, butane and other inputs will also be up for review.
