One arrested, two detained in indecent assault cases

Three separate reports of molestation of young girls have resulted in the detention of two men and the arrest of a third.

The youngest complainant, who is only seven years old, has reported that on May twenty-fourth she was at her aunt’s house when her uncle called her into a room and pushed his hands into her pants and fondled her. Investigations into the incident have led to the arrest of the twenty-eight year old accused. He has since been charged with Indecent Assault.

The second victim is a ten year old from the Cayo district. The child has told authorities that between May and June sixteenth a twenty-four year old man had had sexual intercourse with her. A medical examination has yet to be conducted on the girl, but investigators have since detained construction worker Juan Daniel Ruano of Unitedville.

The other person to be detained by police is eighteen year old Wilber Masa of San Pedro Town. Masa was picked up after a fifteen year old girl claimed that he had sex with her in May. A doctor has confirmed that the minor was carnally known but up to news time no charges had been filed against Masa.
