Classes had just been dismissed and two children and a man were injured in the shooting shortly before four this evening. “They were walking home and I get to understand that the two young men were shooting at some young man Smith and while they were shooting at him they missed and caught the children. It really bothers me that our children are no longer safe to walk the street.”

“And this is just after school hours.”

Police believe that the shooting was in retaliation for the murder in 2007 of Ludrick Beeks. Smith and twenty one year old Leon Gray were recently acquitted of Beeks’ murder.
