Southern Highway accident leaves one dead
A three car collision on the Southern Highway has resulted in the death of a mechanic. According to police, around nine on Thursday night, thirty-two year old Regio Lopez of Hopkins was heading towards Silk Grass in his car when it collided into a truck being driven by Carlos Lopez. As the two vehicles lay extensively damaged in the road, another vehicle crashed into the truck’s trailer. When investigators arrived at the scene they found all three vehicles on the right hand side of the road. According to Carlos, he was transporting orange peels to a dump site when the car veered into his lane and there was no way to avoid the collision. Regio was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital with severe head and body injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival. Up to news time police had yet to file charges against anyone in connection to the accident.
