Seventy new recruits enter Police Force
The Belize Police Department is seventy men and women stronger tonight following passing out ceremonies in Belmopan this morning. The recruits of squad eighty-four were officially welcomed into the ranks by Minister of National Security Carlos Perdomo, following six months at the training academy. According to valedictorian Hermain Campos, the new police officers are eager to start active duty.

“We all came here as individuals but are now leaving as the future pioneers of the police department. We have on this day made through the final lap of training but the learning continues as we start our illustrious careers which await us. It is up to us to enhance the principles of mankind so that everyday we can children happily playing in every corner of Belize without the fear of those who exploit their freedom.”
While Campos took home the Baton of Honor, P.C. Gabriel Cano was first in the written exam and the Commandant’s prize went to recruit Derrick Jones. Best shooter was Mariano Cho and Dianah Rai was awarded for her Consistently Good Performance.
