Two detained after women jack man’s bike

Stronging someone’s bicycle is a common crime in Belize but what puts this particular incident on the news is that last night it was a group of young ladies that relieved a man of his bike. According to police, twenty-two year old Jose Hernandez was riding on Lakeview Street around seven-thirty when he stopped because his way was blocked by a group of women crossing the street. One of them grabbed Hernandez by the shirt, at which time He fled the scene on foot, abandoning his twenty-six inch beach cruiser. In his flight Hernandez did manage to see one of the crowd ride away on his machine into an alley leading to Mayflower Street. He sought the help of police and pointed out one of his assailants to them. Two young women have since been detained by police.
