Justo Alberto Balam detained in México

There are reports in the Mexican press that Justo Alberto Balam was detained over the weekend in Chetumal. It is claimed that Balam is a Belizean who may be wanted by local authorities. But according to the Mexican Embassy’s Press Officer, Marcelino Miranda, Balam remains in custody across the border until it is ascertained whether or not he is a wanted man. Miranda also says that while one report calls him Belizean, Balam is a Honduran National, who might have been living in Belize. Another unconfirmed report in the Mexican papers is that Balam was detained for unruly behavior at the border and it was later discovered he did not have his immigration documents in order.
