Bar Association tops Interoffice basketball action
Good evening I’m James Adderley so welcome board this journey we call Sports Monday.
The Interoffice Basketball League continues to entertain inside the Civic Center people and we’re inside for Friday night’s opener as the Belize City Council plays host to GPO/Grace Kennedy team. We join the action in early third quarter when Andrew Moses of GPO licks down this three to cut the deficit to four. That momentum is quickly misspent as Greg Mahler coughs up the pill, Hallet Conorquie finds the streaking Bernard Bennett, who comes up with two of his nineteen game points uncontested this time. Beansy Bernard then shows his range with this long jumper. At the other end Greg Mahler takes away the rebound from Lyndon Gibson. He would miss a two doubles with seventeen points, nine boards. However, the transition offense by the City Council prevails as Randolph Hinks deals to Lyndon Gibson for the easy two. And this can only be described as abuse people when Kenroy Usher spins past the defense for two of his game fourteen points. Elton Anthony tries to keep his team in the ballgame with his nineteen points but the GPO/Grace Kennedy team will need to shore up their defense if they’re to make the playoffs. The Belize City Council goes on to post the 78-57 blowout.
So we go to game two with the Bar Association of Belize confronting K.H.M.H. And it’s a quick start for the Bar when Jay Jex dials for three to open things up. He would finish with thirteen points, nine rebounds. With a foot on the line, Marlon Clarke strikes for the long dance as the Bar begins to pull away. Orland Ferguson finds Andrew Robateau in his office and he gets two of his team high seventeen points to go along with seven rebounds. Meanwhile, the Hospital gets busy when Neil Nicholson strikes for three of his game high twenty-four points right here. Still at the end of the first, an 18-9 score in favour of the Bar. Robateau pick sup in the second where he left off in the first with this banker. The veteran Travis Santos wants three, he gets three. Note people, as Kevin Arthurs threads the needle to Jay Jex who delivers. It’s more Andrew Robateau when he smashes home the pill. At the half it’s 32-18 score in favour of the Bar Association. With the clock running out in the third quarter, Marlon Palmerson sinks this three to cut the K.H.M.H. deficit to seven. Neil Nicholson makes it a three point ballgame with this tre. But here comes the big mover by Joslyn Valerio fort he Bar. Jay Jex seals the bar Association with these emphatic slam as they shut down K.H.M.H. 55-44.

As a result, Mariame Holt officially finishes sixth. Good looking out manager Matthew Smiling.
