Viewers say the benefits of cruise tourism do not outweigh the disadvantages
It has been a hellish two weeks for tender operators in the cruise tourism and there is still uncertainty on how a new policy by the major cruise lines that requires larger tenders to transport passengers to shore will affect their livelihood. Last night we asked viewers if they thought the benefits of cruise tourism outweigh the disadvantages it brings to the jewel. In our polls sixty-five percent said no while the remaining thirty-five percent said yes. One viewer wrote: “Tourism rarely builds a healthy, sustainable economy and culture, it only complements an existing one.”
