Suspect charged in Vernon Street knockdown/shooting

Story PicturePolice have arrested and charged a man in connection with a Sunday night attack. This morning twenty-four year old Robert Jones, also known as “Black”, appeared in Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with Attempted Murder and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. Jones is alleged to be one of the men who knocked twenty-two year old Darrell Grant off his bike on Vernon Street and then shot him. During the incident, Grant sustained a broken leg and gunshot wounds to his fingers and hip. Jones was remanded to Hattieville prison until May thirtieth. Meanwhile, police are still looking for his accomplice, known only as Teddy.
