Taxi driver detained for sodomy charged w/Drug Trafficking
A Belize City taxi driver accused of raping a nine year old has been slapped with drug trafficking charges following the search of his home. According to police, during their investigations into a report of sodomy against fifty-three year old Belizean Jamaican Eric Mills, they conducted a search of his Freetown Road home where they found four and half pounds of suspected weed in several parcels. Inside his car, cops say they found a nine millimetre bullet in the back seat. As a result of the find, Mills has been charged with Drug Trafficking and Kept Ammunition without a Gun License. When Mills appeared in Magistrate’s Court this morning he pleaded with the judge to give him bail, telling Magistrate Sharon Fraser that this was the first time he has gotten into trouble. Fraser offered Mills bail of five thousand dollars but he could not come up with the cash so he has been remanded until June twenty-sixth. On Wednesday, a nine year old girl told police that around seven that morning she was leaving through the front gate of the Special Education Center on Freetown Road when a man pulled her into a nearby house and sodomised her. Following the child’s report, police detained Mills for questioning.
