Body of drowning victim recovered from New River Lagoon
The body of a man who reportedly fell out of a boat and drowned has been recovered. Police report that around eleven-thirty Wednesday morning the corpse of twenty-six year old Gabriel Perez of August Pine Ridge Village was pulled out of the New River Lagoon. He and a friend, Eduardo Murillo, had been riding in a skiff when Perez, who was driving, suddenly swerved and was thrown out of the boat. Police say both men had been reported drinking heavily prior to the incident. The body awaits a post mortem.
