School security guard claims former student kidnapped him

Story PictureThe assault of security guards for their weapons has become a common crime but tonight a Belize City watchman is alleging that he was kidnapped and beaten by three attackers. According to thirty year old Gregory Stamp, on Wednesday afternoon he was working at Edward P. Yorke High School when a former student attempted to enter the campus. Stamp says he was able to stop him but the incident didn’t end there because the security guard has reported that just before two on Thursday, he was on Cemetery Road waiting for a bus when a black car pulled up and the same young man and two friends got out and forced him into the vehicle. Stamp says he was taken to the Boom Hattieville Road where two of the men held him while the former student beat him in the face with a metal pipe. (FS) The security guard claims he escaped by wriggling free and running away. A doctor has classified Stamp’s injuries as Wounding. Up to news time the suspected teenager and his alleged accomplices had yet to be detained for questioning.
