Former Press Officer charged for weed possession
He’s known for his work at Youth for the Future and more recently, as head of the Government Press Office in the Said Musa administration. But tonight Nuri Mohammed is accused of being something else: a weed smoker. According to police, a mobile patrol spotted a Mercedes Benz car on a dirt road off the Northern Highway between miles twelve and thirteen around ten on Wednesday night. The cops pulled up to the vehicle and proceeded to search the driver. But when Mohammed raised his arms, the police constable says a black plastic bag was spotted sticking out of his back pocket. Inside they found what they suspected was marijuana and proceeded to detain him. But the story doesn’t end there. Mohammed reportedly attempted to throw away another bag which was retrieved, also containing what is believed to be weed. Mohammed appeared in Magistrates’ court this morning where he was charged with Possession of Cannabis, Driving a Motor Vehicle without a License and Failure to Give a Blood Alcohol Specimen. Mohammed was offered and met bail of fifteen hundred dollars and ordered to reappear in court on June second. During the arraignment, Mohammed was represented by Senior Counsel Simeon Sampson.
