Guatemalan prisoner escapes from Kolbe Foundation

In December of 2008, he was remanded to the Hattieville Prison for murder. And tonight, twenty year old Guatemalan Austin Choc Pop is on the lam after he escaped from custody Wednesday night. According to Deputy Officer in Charge of the Punta Gorda Police, Inspector Andres Makin, Pop was handcuffed to another detainee being transported from the Kolbe Foundation to P.G. At around seven-thirty when the police pickup reached a speed bump in Big Falls, he managed to free himself and as the vehicle slowed down, he jumped out and escaped into nearby bushes. It is believed that Pop will head to his hometown. The Guatemalan National of Flores, Peten was charged last year for the vicious murder of twenty-three year old Jaime Sandoval. Sandoval was found lying face down with multiple chop wounds to the head, back, both hands and a severed right foot. The murder allegedly occurred following an altercation on Christmas Day between the then nineteen year old Pop and Sandoval.
