… While Joyce Flowers is Ms. Y 2008
It was full house at the Belize City Centre on Saturday night as six contestants vied for the coveted title of Miss Y 2008. In the end, it was sixty year old Joyce Flowers who walked away with the crown. News Five’s Rick Romero was in the audience and has highlights of the show.

Entertainment value aside, the Ms. Y competition is primarily a fundraising event to support the Y’s programs for young women and girls. Joyce Flowers is a former community promoter with the Belize Organisation for Women and Development.
