… While Dangriga man is accused of the same offence

It’s a crime we are having to report with frightening regularity: grown men having sexual relations with little girls. But when the mother gives her consent to such abuse, it makes the situation twice as sickening. That was exactly what a ten year old girl told police happened to her two separate times in less than a week. Reports reaching News Five indicate that employees at a resort in Dangriga spotted forty-three year old Jose Hernandez riding a bicycle with the little girl on the beach around one on Thursday afternoon. The onlookers watched with concern as the man led the child by hand to a secluded spot. Suspicious of the man’s intent, the hotel employees called police who responded in time to find the little girl semi-nude and Hernandez exposed. When authorities questioned the minor, she told them that on Monday and Wednesday of this week, Hernandez had sexual relations with her in the same location. A medical examination has certified that the child had been sexually molested and was suffering from a genital infection. But most disturbingly, the ten year old said that she witnessed Hernandez give her mother money, which was shared with her grandmother, for sexual favours. In addition to the Unlawful Carnal Knowledge charge, police also intend to file a charge of possession of a controlled drug against Hernandez because they found a stick of weed in his pocket. The victim and her younger sister and brother, are now in the care of a social worker. Police tell News Five they also intend to charge the mother and grandmother with Procuration in connection with the crime.
