Youth chopped over missing gun
A student was viciously attacked at his home around three on Wednesday afternoon by a group of six thugs looking for a gun which one of them either lost or discarded while running away from police the day before. Police say the lead suspect in the assault, Steven Lemoine, accompanied by five accomplices, including two women, went through this alley to the home of twenty-three year old Ornel Sosa, of 140 Newtown Barracks. They approached Sosa, who was standing outside the house and began to harass him about the gun. But when Sosa could not answer their questions, they entered his house and began to search for the weapon. When none was found, the gang then turned on Sosa, beating and chopping him with a machete they found under the kitchen sink. Sosa was treated and released from the K.H.M.H. for wounds to his left shoulder, right elbow, chest and right ring finger. According to police, while Sosa was able to name the lead attacker as Lemoine, who also lives in the area, he denies they ever had any conflict before the assault.
