City shooting has cops seeking two suspects
It may not have been a case of murder, but a Belize City youth came close last night when he was shot three times on Victoria Street. Twenty year old Leon Bainton was reportedly standing alone on the sidewalk around six-thirty at number nine Victoria Street when two men came from the direction of North Front Street on separate bikes. Without saying a word, one of them produced a handgun and shot three times at Bainton. All the bullets hit their target, wounding Bainton in the left side of the stomach, left leg and right calf. While cops have recovered two slugs from the scene they need your help in locating the two suspects, believed to be armed and dangerous. The first is Lucius Myers and another is identified only as “Cyril”. Police would not say whether the shooting was in retaliation for the Monday evening murder of Christino Madrill or the Sunday night shootout on Victoria Street.
