Should government continue to grant licenses for oil exploration in protected areas? That’s the question we put to viewers on Tuesday night. Seventy nine percent thought no and according a comment on our blog that’s because: “The purpose of a protected area is to safeguard specific natural and cultural values and to preserve areas.” Twenty-one percent polled in favor because of the revenue that can be derived.
