… While arrested man claims victimization
One of the people arrested in Cycle Breaker was Darren Banks. Police say when they searched Banks’ Oleander Street home, they found illegal ammunition and drugs. This morning in Magistrate’s Court the construction supervisor was formally arraigned on two counts of Keeping Ammunition without a gun license and possession of a controlled drug before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb. Banks pled not guilty to the charges and he has met bail of five thousand dollars. His case will be recalled on May twelfth. As he left the courtroom this morning, Banks alleged he is being victimized by the police.

Desiree Banks, Wife of Accused
“My husband has been accused of different charges, murder, drugs, most of all he’s been accused of drug trafficking. So far, none of the allegations have held up in court about Darren banks and his allegations. He went to court but each time they have accused him or charged him of these crimes, all of them he was acquitted of. Now yesterday morning they came at our house, they came from about four-thirty in the morning. we did not know, no one was outside. This was the second time they came to our house and sneaked into the yard without informing us of anything. They dug up the yard saying they came to search for drugs and ammunition.”

“The police claimed yesterday they found a scanner along with illegal ammunition at your residence. How do you respond?”
Desiree Banks
“Yes, but no one was present.”
Marion Ali
Was any of these things there?”
Desiree Banks
“They’re allegedly saying that they found it there but they are saying that. We did not saw them pick it up we did not saw anything like that. They are saying that. About last month they were there searching about seven times for the month. Nothing was found. To each time they come and search our house, our yard, nothing has been found.”
One of the bullets police say they found at Banks’ house was a five point five six calibre round which is used in the M-sixteen assault rifle. Banks was represented in court by attorney Dickey Bradley.
