Bicycle thief rides on path to police
While the Ahmad family is homeless, a construction worker will spend the night in jail. Eighteen year old Ashton Grant who allegedly robbed a ten year old boy of his stunt bike on Friday, found himself before the courts today. The culprit was surprised by the police riding the minor’s bike on Princess Margaret Drive. This morning, Grant was arraigned on one count of the robbery of a black chrome five hundred dollar bike belonging to Tyrick Rodriguez. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded when he was unable to meet bail. According to the minor, a student of Maskall Village, who visited the Queen Street Police Station in the company of his mother, Grant allegedly shoved him off and took his bike at the corner of First and Hopkins Street in the King’s Park area. The robber, who was wearing a red striped shirt and jeans pants, was caught minutes later on Princess Margaret Drive.
