W. Hwy. accident leaves S.U.V. in a bind
Bad weather over the weekend made for slick road conditions which produced a number of minor traffic accidents … but one stood out. This was the scene Sunday morning between mile forty-four and forty-five near Cotton Tree village on the Western Highway. According to the driver, Belmopan resident Godfrey Ramos, he and his wife were heading home when he lost control of his Toyota Four Runner. They ran off the road and somehow, managed to wedge the vehicle between two high voltage electricity poles. Ramos and his wife escaped serious injury but the pole they crashed into wasn’t so lucky. It was replaced on Monday by service crews from Belize Electricity Limited during a brief power outage.
