Two wounded in city shooting

In other crime news, two young men—one a teenaged bystander—were injured in a shooting in Belize City over the weekend. According to police, around nine on Monday night the intended victim, twenty-five year old Denver Skeet, was hanging out at the corner of Logwood and Lake View Streets when two armed men on bicycles pulled up and opened fire. One of the bullets hit Skeet in the upper back while another struck sixteen year old Jamal Neal in his lower back. A mobile patrol responded to the gunfire and pursued the suspects but only turned up a thirty-eight handgun which they recovered from the bushes at the corner of Tulip and Flamboyant Streets. At news time tonight, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. Neal remains admitted to ward but Skeet was discharged from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital this morning.
