What’s Happening the Weekend before Easter with Arielle
It’s the countdown for the Easter and this weekend Arielle has a long list of activities to put you in the frame of mind for the upcoming holidays. Across the country, there is an explosion of fairs while in the City a fund raiser for a worthy cause might interest you. But the big number takes place this coming Tuesday night, that’s the KTV Latino finals, so don’t miss out on the showdown. All that and more coming up on What’s Happening Belize.
Hey welcome back to “What’s Happening Belize!” I’m your host Arielle. And we are going to jump right into the pre Easter weekend activities. Let’s go!
It’s a grand Easter explosion in the Hopkins Village as Holy Family RC School will be having their annual Easter fair. It all goes down on April 24th Easter Sunday. Activities for this event includes; a Punta rock contest, sporting competitions, greasy pole, watermelon eating contest, tombola, dory rides and so much more. Plenty of food and drinks will be on sale and there will be enough prizes and surprises. Music will be provided by; DJ Jessie of Ras Cas sounds, and dance the night away with The New Rebels Band featuring Chico Ramos, Vida Sheldon and Method.
If you want to have fun, and still give back to your community, Radisson will be having an Old School Dance on Saturday April 16th from 9:00p.m. – 3:00a.m. with fabulous door prizes; music will be provided by Belizean Movements. All door proceeds go to the Belize Cancer Society, the Belize Visually Impaired and The Rotary’s gift of life. Food and drink will be on sale, and it cost only $20.
It’s here once again! Sittee River Easter Monday Fair on April 25th. Bring out the family and enjoy a day of fun…activities for this event includes; a football Marathon, Domino competitions, a beer drinking and a watermelon eating contests and the very popular canoe race for amateur and professional paddlers. For the kids, don’t worry you’re not forgotten, there will be enough games and prizes to keep you entertained! Music will be provided by DJ Darren and Sound Supreme; there will also live performance by two popular Punta rock artists…Con-see-go and Ta-pric. And to top it all off the famous duo, Patrick and Ava will be doing their thing! Plenty of food and drinks will be on sale. So remember, on April the 25th at 9am, Sittee River will is the place to be!
It’s a Grand Easter EGGStravaganza Fair & Teen Hype Dance on Saturday April 16th, Hosted by the Burrell Boom Scout Troop. It all goes down at the Burrell Boom Community Center from 4:00 p.m. – 12 midnight. Activities for this event include; Train Rides, exciting games, Jellybean Tasting contest, Easter Basket Raffle and lots more! Come and have fun while supporting the Scouts in their fund raising event!
On Saturday, April 16th hop on the boat and head over to club Driftwood in Caye Caulker for the full moon party. What’s your flavor? Latin, Local, Hip Hop, or reggae…they’ve got something for you! Music will be provided by Evolution, DJ Julian, DJ Aim, DJ Vibes and DJ 1234. Its $15 In advance, $20 at the door, and the water taxi is $8 roundtrip on the tsunami adventures, pier to driftwood. Then on April 22nd and 23rd it’s a two day island invasion “Easter Edition” on the San Pedro Island.
On Friday the 22nd, it’s the opening of the show with entertainment by DJ Mauricio from skynet sounds, DJ Rudebway and Sku, The Alliance crew, Belizean Movements, Evolution sounds, DJ Trilla and DJ Julian with a live performance by Can-tinen-tal Kat….it will also be the autograph and picture night in the V.I.P area with Darrio the artist from Jamaica.
Then on Saturday the 23rd, it’s the main event with early entertainment by, DJ Mauricio from skynet sounds, DJ Rudebway and Sku, The Alliance crew, Belizean Movements, Evolution sounds, DJ Trilla and DJ Julian. Also performing will be BoBo youth and young soldier, then the main event…a live performance from Darrio straight out of Kingston Jamaica, performing hits like…”Virtual gialist,” “Girly girly,” “do the thing” and more. This all goes down inside Fido’s Restaurant and bar on Barrier Reef Drive. Tickets are; $25 in advance $35 at the door, and $45 V.I.P. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and show time is at 2:30 p.m.
