Suspected bomb maker deported to U.S. …
An accused bomb maker living in the Stann Creek district has been deported to the United States. According to police, fifty year old Dean De Marks was put on TACA’s ten-fifteen flight to Houston where he was handed over to U.S. Marshals. De Marks is an insurance agent in New Jersey and was looking to build condominiums in Seine Bight. But in late February, villagers reported to police that De Marks had threatened to blow up the community and when cops searched his house, they found a quantity of C-4 explosives along with detonating accessories and an unlicensed handgun. He was later charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition and explosives. De Marks was out on bail of ten thousand dollars when the expulsion order was signed but investigators say the deportation means De Marks will not stand trial in Belize for the offences.
