Incestuous father will spend six years behind bars

A Cayo man who pled guilty to Incest has been sentenced to spend six years behind bars. To protect the victim, the forty year old’s name is being withheld but when the Camalote villager appeared before Justice Herbert Lord he said he turned to drugs and drink when he found out his wife was having an affair and it was while under the influence that he attacked his then sixteen year old daughter between March and April 2005. The abuse eventually resulted in pregnancy. During trial the victim took the stand and testified that she will have to live with what has happened for the rest of her life. Justice Lord then opted to sentence the guilty man to six years behind bars, one year shy of the maximum sentence.
