Lands Dept. modifies transfer moratorium
A week ago the Ministry of Natural Resources announced a moratorium on the registration of all land transfers until March fourteenth, pending a review of transactions suspected of being tainted by politically induced irregularities. That suspension has now been modified and all private transfers may now proceed. The only exception is those transfers that involved parcels that from 2003 onwards were owned by government.
